Shop Local Saturday Highlight: The Little Beet

The Eric Fong • July 27, 2019

Welcome back to this week’s #ShopLocalSaturday; where I highlight local eats and shops that I have visited. This week is featuring a vegetarian place  The Little Beet  in the NYC area!

As I was on my detox cleanse, and quest to find places that I can eat cleaner and greener; I had found that The Little Beet had a lot to offer that fulfilled the food conditions that would help me maximize my cleanse. Luckily for me; I was heading to a networking event that night, and there was a Little Beet nearby that I can stop by before arriving.

Whenever there’s a chance for a make-your-own plates; it’s very ideal for me, and I always go for that opportunity.

My plate consisted of chicken as the protein, with a base of brown rice, and sides of roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes, topped off with chipotle aioli sauce. Also, from what I’ve seen so far; they also offer jack fruit as well; which is a vegetarian-friendly item, that has the texture of beef, so there’s not much difference in the taste (I believe that you can ask for a sample of it; if you’re curious about it).

This was a pretty stacked plate, in my opinion. Pairing the chicken with the sauce always enhances it. I’m a big fan of roasted foods; so even though the broccoli and sweet potatoes are cooked or boiled; having them roasted is, for me; going the extra mile.

What I also like about The Little Beet is that they are a very green and eco-friendly joint. Of course the containers they give you are bio-degradable; so are the utensils, the fork, spoon, napkin, and the wrapper it comes are also bio-degradable!

To end; I would recommend The Little Beet to those who are looking for another option to cleaner eating, and for those who are on a vegetarian lifestyle. There are lot of items on the menu that would appeal to those committed to adding more greens in their diet (they do salads as well). I would encourage others to give The Little Beet a try, and let me know what your experience is.

As a bonus; if you do wanna get the most bang for your buck; I’ll leave you with the following below with my links, so that you can earn CASH BACK  on what you order while you’re visiting The Little Beet! (*Disclaimer: this blog will be compensated as well; but at no extra cost to you*)

Know of any other local shops that you enjoy going to that should be highlighted? Leave a comment and let me know!

And as always,

Remember to always support your local establishments! They are a part of your community!

“It’s not what you know. It’s who you know.” You probably heard this statement many times. You may be wondering, “What’s that really mean? Who do I have to know? And how do I do that?” My simple answer to that is; networking. Networking is a necessity as you grow up. In fact, you already know how to network and know people; you’ve been doing it all your life.

What’s in the teapot today for Tea Time Thursday? I popped open my #chrysanthemumtea today from Chinese Tea Culture. I definitely love the taste. It reminds me when I go #dimsum and this tea is served. Gotta love when it’s brewed #teatimethursday #chinesetea #nostalgia
